Class was interesting today. Web 2.0 is something I've heard of before but wasn't entirely sure what exactly it referred to. After today's class I know what it represents. The presentations for web 2.0 is a good idea because it gives everyone the chance to know which each website does. Even though this was new information, what I found the most interesting and useful was googledocs. I never even heard of google docs before. I'm glad we were taught how to use this tool, it will make things alot easier when dealing with group activities.

National Educational Technology Standards and Performance Indicators for Teachers

Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity

The whole reason children go to school is to learn, so why would teachers feel it is unimportant to need to facilitate and inspire students. When students find something interesting they usually pursue with that task. It’s important for teachers to be creative when it comes to learning so students want to learn. From my own experience, when I want to learn about something I take the time to listen and pay attention. I have found that I understand the information better and remember it easily. Getting children to want to learn is sometimes difficult, but I feel it’s essential.

Class was a great introduction to what information will be discussed throughout the semester. Going around the class and having everyone introduce who they were and what they were going to school for was a good idea. It helped let people know who else is studying in the same area of majors. The group projects were a good idea to help get people talking to each other right from the beginning. I think this is a good idea because it helps people become comfortable with each other and expressing ideas with one another, especially if it is going to be a reoccurring task of working in groups.
